The RGD71ALMS is a multi-scale seven-string, combining the RGD platform's low-tuning focus with fanned frets and active electronics.
Multi-Scale Construction
Fanned frets give each string its own scale length: longer on the bass side for tension and articulation in low tunings, shorter on the treble side for comfortable bending and a warmer high end. The angled frets follow the natural arc of the fretting hand across the neck, and most players find the transition takes a session or two at most. On a seven-string built for downtuned playing, this is the most direct solution to the tension problem that a single scale length cannot fully solve.
Tonewoods and Electronics
The nyatoh body delivers a rich mid-low character that supports extended range without becoming indistinct. The panga panga and walnut neck provides stability under seven strings of tension, and the Macassar ebony fretboard contributes tight lows, strong high-end attack, and quick response with rich sustain. Active humbuckers supply consistent high output with a low noise floor for sustained high-gain work. Black Aurora Burst Matte is a shifting, iridescent finish in a satin texture — considerably more distinctive in person than a photograph conveys.
