Handmade in the Ramirez workshop in Madrid with excellent quality wood and natural drying between 20 to 70 years, which increase the stability and enrich the sound quality of the instrument.
At the end of the 19th century, José Ramírez I created the “Tablao Guitar” that revolutionized the world of the flamenco guitar, and it was his disciple and younger brother Manuel who later developed this model to achieve our current flamenco guitar, which even today is the reference of modern flamenco guitar.
This model is built with solid cypress back and sides, which will add clarity and a traditional flamenco tone to the sound.
The Ramirez Flamenca Blanca 1A stands as a professional-grade instrument from the most respected name in Spanish guitar building. Handcrafted in the Ramirez workshop in Madrid, this model represents the top of their line, offering refined tonewoods, superior craftsmanship, and the dynamic range required for serious flamenco performance and recording.
Built with carefully selected solid spruce for the top and Spanish cypress for the back and sides, the 1A delivers the classic flamenco blanca sound—bright, cutting trebles with immediate percussive attack and minimal sustain. The cypress's natural resonance creates the dry, crackling tone that flamenco players prize for its clarity and projection. The lighter bracing pattern enhances responsiveness, allowing for the explosive rasgueados and delicate picado runs that define the art form. A protective golpeador preserves the top during the rhythmic golpes essential to flamenco performance.
Since 1882, the Ramirez family has set the standard for Spanish guitar making, earning recognition as the most esteemed builder in the field. The 1A designation within the Ramirez catalog indicates a level of attention and material selection that places this instrument among their professional offerings. Each guitar is built entirely by hand in their Madrid workshop, where skilled luthiers apply generations of expertise to every detail, from the Spanish cedar neck to the ebony fingerboard and precision machine heads with ebony buttons.
Every instrument at XGuitars receives careful attention from owner Geoff Ferdón, who personally inspects and sets up each guitar to ensure optimal playability and performance.
