Tony Ennis Classical Guitar 2020 - Padauk & Spruce no 16

This beautiful instrument is made in Walhalla, South Carolina, by luthier Tony Ennis.

This guitar is one-of-a-kind, in the best of ways. The sound of this instrument is shockingly beautiful and powerful, partly thanks to an innovative interior bracing system developed by Tony that gives the guitar significantly more volume and sustain than nearly any other classical guitar we've ever played.  Tony calls this the "Ennis Unibody Framing". This bracing system is shown in photos above. One very striking feature of his guitars is that the tone stays just as rich and full at even the lowest of volumes.

The wood that the neck was carved from is from a 100-year old piano, so it carries with it a century's worth of musical history.

Anthony Ennis Guitars

These are solid built, high power, well balanced, beautiful guitars. This guitar is as loud as a double top, but is not a double top. Perhaps the raised fretboard creates an angle of relief coming off the bridge of the soundboard that allows the top to resonate more freely. I love this guitar, and its construction, and it's original fine detailing. I am surprised this maker is not getting more attention, he certainly deserves a closer look at what he is doing as far as cutting edge building techniques. I could not be more pleased with my dealings with Geoff and Anthony, they really are very grounded souls, they obviously love the guitar, and will work with you on a personal level. Xguitars was so easy to work with: How does it get any better?
