The Alhambra 9P Classical Guitar is an all-solid short scale handmade all-solid classical guitar with a beautifully intimate and refined sound. It features very well-balanced projection of treble and bass strings, and is also designed for comfort and optimal playability. Recommended Strings: This guitar comes with D'Addario EXP44 Extra Hard Tension strings installed. These are not bad strings, but don't allow the guitar to live up to its full potential. I recommend the following strings for this guitar:

Carbon: My favorite strings of all I've tried are Savarez Alliance set 540J. These strings provide great volume and resonance. Being Carbon, they are a bit thinner in diameter than nylon strings. The tone is brighter and not as mellow as nylon strings. If you want a softer sound, nylon may suit you better.

Nylon: For nylon strings, I really like Savarez Corum New Cristal set 500CJ strings. They provide a nice round tone, good volume, and a comfortable feel.

Awesome guitar and setup

I recently purchased the Alhambra 9p Senorita from Geoff. The guitar itself is beautiful and the sound is amazing. And Geoff worked with me to setup the guitar perfectly. I’ve been playing for 50 years and wanted another Spanish made parlor like guitar. This guitar is awesome and Geoff is awesome. Thanks again Geoff.

Comfortable To Play/Excellent Projection And Tone

The Señorita 636 is a wonderful guitar for me to play. The smaller size and shorter scale makes it easier for me to play comfortably. With severe arthritis and another motor skill issue, I am able to play longer without discomfort. The workmanship is exquisite, attention to detail readily evident. Projection is not sacrificed by the 7/8 size. I did find normal tension bass stings more to my liking given my hand impairment. As a hobbyist who finds great joy in classical guitar, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Love it!

This is a beautiful guitar and the 7/8 size, which was difficult to find, is outsanding, particularly for smaller hands. Geoff's excellent setup of the instrument prepared it for its performances ahead. The personalized service was absolutely awesome. Reconnecting with Geoff and X-Guitars for other acquisitions is an imperative.

I’m very pleased with the 9P Senorita. I like the7/8 size. It doesn’t lack in sound. The resonance is deep, and the volume and sustain of notes is very good, with excellent balance. It’s a beautiful guitar too, with lovely woods, tuners, and rosette colors that seem to match the Christmas season. I’m really glad I made this choice, and with the form-fitting case. The action is set from the factory a little high for my preference, but Geoff is remedying this with a custom saddle and nut that should make it just right. Thank you XGuitars and Geoff! I will continue shopping there.
