The Woodside SLK-3 is a Short Lift Kit that installs between the support column and the cradle of a Woodside guitar support, raising the instrument to a higher position. It's the shorter counterpart to Woodside's HLK Hi Lift Kits — a good fit for players who want more elevation than the stock column provides but find the full-length Hi Lift Kit more than they need.
Who Needs Additional Lift
The lift kit is one of the most commonly added Woodside accessories, and for good reason. Taller players and anyone who prefers the guitar angled steeper than about 45 degrees often reach the top of the stock adjustment range and want more. Raising the instrument can also relieve strain on the back and shoulders by bringing the guitar up to you rather than asking you to lean down to it. If you've found yourself at the maximum setting on your Woodside and still wanting the guitar higher, a lift kit is the fix.
SLK-3 vs. HLK Hi Lift Kit
Woodside offers lift kits in two lengths. The
HLK Hi Lift Kit adds up to roughly 18cm of additional lift — a substantial change in playing position. The SLK-3 Short Lift Kit provides a more moderate increase, which many players find is the right amount for a comfortable adjustment without dramatically altering their established position.
